The Hidden HR Reality of Ecopreneurs

The Hidden HR Reality of Ecopreneurs

The Hidden HR Reality of Ecopreneurs is a collaborative initiative by Ecoxyztem and SRW&Co. that explores the people and organizational challenges behind the growth of sustainable businesses. While ecopreneurs are focused on creating solutions for environmental and social challenges, building a strong team is equally important to support the growth and sustainability of their businesses. Based on a survey conducted with ecopreneurs in June and July 2026, this report provides a closer look at the current state of HR management among ecopreneurs, including recruitment, team performance, team capabilities, roles and responsibilities, and work culture. It also highlights how HR priorities can vary across different generations and organizational levels, from founders and C-level leaders to managers, supervisors, and staff. Beyond identifying the challenges, the report explores how these areas are connected and how gaps in one aspect of HR management can affect overall team effectiveness and business growth. The report also offers expert insights and practical priorities that ecopreneurs can consider, from strengthening recruitment and onboarding to developing team capabilities, clarifying roles and workflows, and improving team performance. Through these findings, The Hidden HR Reality of Ecopreneurs aims to provide a useful reference for ecopreneurs, business leaders, and ecosystem stakeholders who want to better understand the people side of building and scaling sustainable businesses.
