SDG Innovation Accelerator 2025: Empowering Young Professionals to Drive Sustainable Innovation

What happens when young professionals turn sustainability challenges within their organizations into opportunities for innovation?
That is the idea behind the SDG Innovation Accelerator for Young Professionals (SDGI) 2025, organized by the UN Global Compact Network Indonesia (IGCN) in collaboration with the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). Launched on May 21, 2025, in Jakarta, SDGI 2025 brought together 94 innovators from 20 companies across various industries. The program provides a platform for young professionals to identify sustainability challenges within their organizations and develop innovative solutions that contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Turning Sustainability Challenges into Innovation
Sustainability challenges can look different across industries, from environmental impacts and resource efficiency to responsible business practices and social issues. SDGI 2025 encourages participants to start by understanding these challenges and exploring solutions that are relevant to both their organizations and broader sustainability goals.
The launch featured an interactive innovation exhibition, panel discussions, and solution development activities. Participants had the opportunity to showcase the challenges they identified, exchange perspectives, and explore potential approaches to addressing them. Rather than treating sustainability as a separate agenda, the program encourages participants to integrate sustainability into how their organizations identify problems, develop solutions, and create value.
Connecting Research, Business, and Innovation
The collaboration between IGCN and BRIN also highlights the importance of connecting business and research in advancing sustainable innovation. By bringing together companies, young professionals, researchers, and sustainability stakeholders, SDGI 2025 creates opportunities for ideas to be informed by both real-world business challenges and research-based knowledge. This connection is important because sustainable innovation requires more than a promising idea. Solutions also need to be relevant, feasible, measurable, and ready to respond to challenges in the real world.
Ecoxyztem’s Participation
As one of the participating companies in SDGI 2025, Ecoxyztem contributed to the process of identifying sustainability challenges and exploring innovative solutions.
The program also provided an opportunity for Ecoxyztem to connect and exchange knowledge with professionals from different industries, private companies, research institutions, and other organizations working toward sustainable development. This experience reinforces the importance of collaboration in building solutions for environmental and social challenges. Complex sustainability issues cannot be addressed by one organization alone; they require different perspectives, expertise, and resources to come together.
For Ecoxyztem, participating in this initiative is part of its continued commitment to supporting sustainable innovation, collaboration, and impact-driven solutions. Because sustainable change does not start with one perfect solution. It starts when people come together to understand the problem, explore new possibilities, and turn ideas into action.
